A wealth manager needs something different from a consumer brand. Eighteen agencies, what each is strongest at, and how to pick between them.

Alex Khassa
Social media advertising looks different when the buyer is a wealth management firm rather than a consumer brand. A retirement planning firm may need to explain income, distribution timing and longevity. A wealth management firm may need to communicate its minimums, differentiate a multi-advisor team and complement an established referral pipeline. A financial planning firm usually has to sell a planning relationship rather than a financial product. Independent advisory firms have another concern: protecting ownership of the brand and the client relationship.
That makes agency selection more nuanced than finding a firm that can buy Facebook or LinkedIn ads. Financial advisory firms need an agency that understands trust, regulated communications, longer consideration cycles and the difference between attention and a genuinely useful business opportunity.
This list takes a broad view of social media advertising. It includes advisor marketing agencies where paid social is one part of a wider service, financial-services specialists, international agencies, performance media firms and full-service agencies with documented financial-sector experience. It deliberately excludes agencies whose primary offering is done-for-you Meta or Facebook advertising designed to generate booked appointments for advisors or RIAs.
This list is published by one of the agencies included in it, Clients Blackbox. That relationship is disclosed so readers can evaluate the directory accordingly.
A good social media agency for a wealth management firm needs to understand more than ad-platform mechanics. We looked for financial-services experience, a broader understanding of the client journey and a service mix that makes sense for firms with established brands and marketing operations.
Website: clientsblackbox.com
Based: Austin, Texas, United States
Specialty: Meta advertising for financial services firms.
Clients Blackbox is a Meta advertising agency built exclusively around financial services firms. Its work covers Facebook and Instagram advertising, creative development, landing-page funnels and the systems connecting advertising activity to qualified opportunities.
Why it is first on this list comes down to the evaluation criteria above. On financial-services fluency, the agency works in no other category, so the trust, regulatory and messaging constraints of financial advertising are the starting point rather than something learned on a client's budget. On creative judgment, the model is built around turning an advisory firm's own expertise into advertising rather than applying consumer-brand creative to a regulated category. On full-funnel thinking, the engagement covers what happens after the click, including the landing page and the path to a booked conversation, rather than ending at media management.
The trade-off is specialization. A firm that wants one agency handling websites, SEO, email, public relations and brand alongside paid social will find broader options further down this list. Clients Blackbox is the stronger fit when Meta is intended to be a primary acquisition channel rather than one line in a wider marketing plan.

The first question is what role social media needs to play in the firm's growth plan.
If the objective is brand visibility and thought leadership, CSG, BlueChip Communication, Magnolia or The Yardstick Agency may be a better starting point than a performance-media shop. Those agencies connect social activity with communications, content, reputation and brand positioning.
If the firm wants social operating as part of a larger digital acquisition program, Blackstone Media, Cal Partners, PWD, 21 Degrees Digital, Franklin Marketing or Agency 102 offer broader combinations of paid media, search, websites, content and conversion work.
For larger organizations with sophisticated media programs, measurement becomes the deciding factor. QRY is particularly focused on connecting brand and performance media across banking, insurance, fintech and wealth management.
Geography matters too. UK advisers may need an agency that understands FCA-regulated communications. Canadian firms may need familiarity with CIRO and dealer approval. Australian firms face their own environment. A regional agency can bring more useful context than a generalist that happens to have financial-services clients.
For retirement planning firms, examine whether the agency can communicate the planning process clearly without reducing the message to generic investment advertising. Income planning, distribution strategy, longevity and timing require educational content and credible positioning.
For wealth management firms, ask how the agency will handle minimums, advisor capacity and existing referral relationships. Social media should reinforce the firm's positioning rather than create a separate identity that conflicts with what prospects hear from referral sources.
For financial planning firms, look at whether the agency understands planning-led positioning. A firm selling comprehensive planning needs communications explaining the relationship and the problems it solves, not a stream of product-oriented messages.
For independent advisory firms, clarify ownership before signing. The firm should understand who owns the advertising accounts, creative assets, landing pages, tracking infrastructure and audience data, and what happens if the relationship ends.
Finally, ask how success will be measured. Impressions, clicks, followers and engagement are useful diagnostics and are not the same as qualified business opportunities. The reporting structure should connect social activity to the outcome the firm actually cares about.
There is no single best agency for every wealth management firm. A UK IFA, a Canadian dealer network, an Australian wealth manager and a US multi-advisor RIA have very different requirements.
For a broad financial-services program, Cal Partners, The Yardstick Agency, Agency 102 and inSymmetry are worth examining. For media and performance work, QRY, Franklin Marketing and 21 Degrees Digital offer relevant capabilities. For firms prioritizing communications and brand, CSG, Magnolia, BlueChip Communication and Sprout and Harvest provide different approaches.

Answers based on what we've seen drive top performance across years of data.
First appointments typically hit the calendar within the first 1–2 weeks after launch. Month one is optimization. Month two is when things stabilize and become predictable.
2–3 hours of video recording every 3–6 months. That’s it. We handle everything else.
We’ve worked with over 200 RIAs and their compliance departments. We know what gets approved under Special Ad Category restrictions. We build compliant from the start and coordinate directly with your team.
Total marketing budget starts at $17,500 per month and ranges up to $120,000 depending on your goals, ad spend included. Engagements run on a 12 month minimum.
No. And you should be skeptical of any agency that does. Guarantees in this space are a red flag — they’re selling you a feeling, not a strategy. What we offer is a proven methodology, a team that’s managed over $10 million in Meta ad spend for RIAs, and a track record of $45+ Billion of AUM pipeline generated across 200+ firms. The firms that follow our methodology and commit to the process see results. That’s why we’re selective about who we work with.
Most agencies try to do everything — Google, email, social, websites — and they’re mediocre at all of it. We only do Meta Ads for financial firms. We’ve spent over $10 million in this exact channel under Special Ad Category restrictions. We know what works because it’s all we do.
Good. Most of our clients do. We’re not replacing your marketing person or your agency. We’re adding the one capability they probably don’t have: Meta Ads at scale with branded video for financial services under Special Ad Category. We plug in alongside whatever else you’re running.
No. We do Meta Ads. That’s our entire focus. If you need those other services, we’re happy to recommend partners, but that’s not what we do.
